Alejandro Cegarra, The Two Walls
Mexico once had the reputation of being a safe haven for asylum seekers. In recent years, however, the country has become a contributing factor to the anti-immigration policies of the United States, which seek to prevent people from moving on to the U.S. The Venezuelan-born, Mexico-based photographer’s (b.1989) black and white series focuses on the individual stories of people affected by the harsh conditions in the Mexican border region.
