Damir Faizulin, Preserving Nature as Preserving Ourselves

The Russian photographer (born 1986) draws attention to the nature and living conditions in the mountains of Dagestan, which lie in the North Caucasus in the south of Russia. His pictures reveal the precarious and delicate balance between nature and the people living there. Faizulin documents the changes currently taking place: the advent of tourism and modern architecture, and the neglect of established structures and culture; whilst, at the same time, celebrating the beauty of the region.
